PWhile
drinking a glass of beer, Francesco and Guerrino had the idea to found a metal
band to play with good musicians and heavy metal lovers…they made it!
Mizar
was formed in 1999 with Guerrino Mattioni (soloist classic guitar), Francesco
Ceccamea (rhythmic guitar), Andrea Lippi (vocal), Miguel Calì (drums)
and Emiliano Natali (bass).
After the fist period in which we played Gamma Ray, Stratovarius, Helloween
and Iron Maiden's songs, Guerrino and Francesco started to write some songs,
oriented to classic heavy-power metal.
Thanks to the firsts live exhibition in Viterbo, Vetralla and Marta (Italy),
Mizar's popularity grew.
In 2001 we published "Accession", first Mizar's demo tape, in which
we can find the best four songs: "Hope", "Dark sign",
"Storm of changes" and "And the fate will be done". Keyboards
where played by Marco Berni and then he became member of the band.
Some
day before the recording day, Emiliano left the band, but luckily Francesco,
in very few days, had been able to realize and play all bass parts. The 4
tracks received good reviews in magazines and a nice success among people.
In following months we tried to contact some new bass player, but we didn’t
find him, so we stopped playing for a long period. But we kept strong: after
manifold quests, on June 2002, Graziano Mazzapicchio became the new bass player
of the band. After that we were able to continue our work. But out of envy,
someone begin to bring disgrace on us among people and trough some reviews
and interviews on Net. We pretended not to notice and we carried on.
New songs were played in some gigs across Italy and so much people could know
Mizar. Not very after the drummer, Miguel, left the band, being soon replaced
by Federico Massimi, a very young but very talented pounding skinsmasher.
So we worked on old songs and many new songs had been composed: the band was
going to record the new demo with a very good line up.
We
rolled up our sleeves and with the help of some friends of our, we built up
a web site and promoted our music trough the WEB selling very much demos in
Europe and South America. We sent it also to magazines and web-zines; we organized
shows across Italy so we could make a name for ourselves: many people appreciate
our music and many e-mailed us to have a copy of our demo. We tried to send
it to some Italian metal labels but the Italian metal scene is too crowded
and no label feels inclined to invest in little bands with not much money.
Federico
left the band quickly replaced by a new skins-masher Daniele “Totino”
Michelacci; meanwhile Guerrino and Francesco are writing and composing new
songs again …
Now
we keep on playing, because a lot of people love us and our music, they trust
on us helping us to carry on. The new demo CD is ready and we are looking
for someone who can understand our way to make heavy metal and appreciate
it ...
