Dark
Rise was born in April 1998 in Lausanne, Switzerland. The original line-up
was : Yann (drums), Wils (bass), Nico (vocal & guitar) and Luc (guitar).
The
first concert of Dark Rise happened in February 1999 in Lausanne. In April
2000, Dark Rise recorded its first autoproduction in the Castle Life Studio
in Fribourg. This 6-tracks demo was called "Slaves of Death". Because
of the Swiss army obligations (it's f***ing compulsory in Switzerland) we
couldn't go on stage immediately after the release (June 2000). In 2001, after
some good gigs everywhere in Switzerland, Dark Rise decided to change the
drummer, owing to different opinions on music and to the motivation in the
band.
The
new comer is called Steeve, he is already known as singer of Disaster. This
change in the band and also one more time, the Swiss army obligations, made
that Dark Rise started to work on new song in November 2001. The injection
of fresh blood has influenced the band, and now our music is more brutal and
faster than before.
After
one year and some gigs with Steeve behind the drums, DarkRise and Steeve decided
to stop their collaboration. This decision was taken only three weeks before
the beginning of the recording of the first album of DarkRise.
We
finally decided to record this album with a drum machine in March 2003 in
the Full-Moon Studio. This production has been made by DarkRise and David
Gachet. For this album called ‘’Massive Retaliation ‘’
we will be endorsed by Frost Creation which is a subdivision of DeadSun Record
(France). This album has been released in Avril 2004.
In
September 2004, DarkRise found a new Killer Drummer. His name is Tony. We
are now working on the set list and on new songs. Our goal for 2005 is to
do lots of concerts and to release an album with Tony. We have already some
powerful songs and we are going to record a demo in the end of 2004. We are
also searching for a contract or a deal to help us to product this next album.
